GENRES
Ethio jazz, library music and other rabbit holes

Every serious digger eventually leaves their home genre. Not out of boredom exactly — more that the supply of surprise runs out, and surprise is the thing you were actually collecting.
Library music
Music recorded for film and television production, never sold to the public, catalogued by mood rather than artist. It is the single richest seam available to anyone who likes texture, because the brief was always function over ego. Whole labels exist that no listener was ever meant to know about.
Ethio jazz
A modal language that sounds simultaneously ancient and lounge-modern, with rhythmic feel that sits beautifully against slow electronic music. It has been reissued heavily, which makes the entry point cheap and the deep cuts still genuinely hard.
The detour is not a break from digging. It is what keeps the main dig from going stale.
Bringing it back
These records rarely work as straight club tools, and that is not the point. They change what you reach for at 3am, they change what you sample, and they widen the space of records that sound adjacent to you.
